Otto's Cache in Jasper, Alberta, is hiring bakers for our local café, bakery and provisions market. We craft Australian style coffee, brunch, pastries and breads with careful attention to detail for dine-in and take-away.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of bakery or kitchen experience, knowledge of baking techniques, and the ability to follow recipes; availability for early shifts, weekends and holidays; and a commitment to food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of baker or commercial kitchen experience.
• Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent product quality; experience with equipment.
• Food safety, sanitation, and hygiene knowledge.
• Available for early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment.
• Reliable, punctual and team player.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes according to recipes.
• Measure and mix ingredients for consistent quality.
• Operate and maintain mixers, ovens, and proofers.
• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures.
• Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
• Ensure products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Label, store, and rotate products properly (FIFO).
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving supplies.
• Work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Description:

Otto's Cache is Jasper's first locally owned café, bakery and curated provisions market. Serving an expertise and craftsmanship of a new era of Jasper hospitality offerings. In Spring 2025, Otto's Cache opened its doors to Jasper National Park. The cafes focus is on serving high quality and attention to detail on both dine-in and take-away offerings. Such as Australian style specialty coffee and brunch, fresh bakery items, fresh bread, sandwiches and salads. The market’s main focus will be providing our community with locally sourced, exciting artisanal provisions, making great food accessible to our community year round. All made possible by local Canadian suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a baker or in a commercial kitchen (1–3 years preferred)
• Knowledge of baking techniques, doughs, batters, and pastry preparation
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product qualityExperience operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers)
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Nice to Have

• Formal baking or pastry training
• Experience with artisan breads, pastries, or specialty desserts
• Food Handler or Safe Food Certification (often required in Canada)
