Qualifications

Acro Commerce is looking for a Back End Developer to build, integrate, and maintain high-quality commerce solutions for our clients.

What You’ll Do

As a Back End Developer, you'll build and maintain the systems that help manufacturers, distributors, and brands sell online. Our client work spans a range of platforms and languages, and our developers flex between them. Right now, we're seeing a growing amount of .NET work, so if you've got .NET experience, we especially want to hear from you.

Build & Deliver

• Write high-quality, maintainable code that follows Acro Commerce standards and our production process
• Build new features, integrations, and full builds, as well as updates and revisions to existing sites
• Juggle multiple smaller tasks or larger builds with shifting priorities, and still hit your deadlines

Problem Solving

• Find and fix problems in code that might not be yours, where your only hint is a cryptic complaint from a client
• Provide accurate estimates for defects, builds, and new functionality, and stick to them
• Deliver efficient, practical solutions to work requests, issues, and defects

Collaboration & Growth

• Communicate clearly with Project Managers, Tech Leads, and clients about work requests, problems, and defects
• Act as a peer and mentor to other developers, while being comfortable asking for help yourself
• Pick up new languages and platforms as client work demands it

What You Bring

We're less concerned with degrees and more with what you can actually build. Formal education is NOT required; you just need to show us you can code.

• Solid hands-on back-end development experience, with work samples you can share
• Experience with .NET / C# is a strong asset
• Experience with some of what we work with day-to-day: PHP, Drupal, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, NextJS, Shopify, WordPress, AWS, Docker, Lando, Kubernetes, Acumatica
• Know other languages? Tell us. If you're a badass Lisp hacker type, mention that too.
• Comfort in a Linux shell for day-to-day tasks, plus some understanding of Linux hosting (bonus points if you've set up your own server, even if nobody else cared)
• Source control experience (Git, GitHub, etc.)
• An excellent internet connection and hardware that can survive an hour-long conference call
• Fluency in English
