Job summary

OMERS / Oxford Properties Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Software Engineering team in Toronto. You will enhance hosting, monitoring, automation, and platform reliability across cloud and container environments, collaborating with cross-functional groups to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

The role requires hands-on Azure experience, scripting abilities, and a commitment to best practices in observability and security within an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with public cloud infrastructure; Azure preferred.
• Experience operating cloud infrastructure and container platforms.
• Hands-on with Azure services: Datadog, Application Insights, Monitor.
• Automation scripting in Python or Shell.
• Experience improving monitoring, alerting, and security.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in an Agile, multi-priority environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, managing, and scaling cloud and container infrastructure with a focus on security, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Designing, building, and maintaining robust automation for monitoring, deployments, recovery, scaling, alerting, and workflows.
• Partnering with Software Engineering, Operations, and Platform teams to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Supporting the migration of legacy applications to containerized platforms, including deployment readiness and operational support.
• Analyzing technical issues related to performance, connectivity, deployments, and platform operations; driving resolution with minimal disruption.
• Working with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure impacts and ensure safe, reliable changes.
• Staying current on industry trends and sharing knowledge across teams.
