Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, Manager, you’ll work with problem-solving teams to address business issues, deliver high-quality client service, and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and propose technical cloud-based solutions, including proposals and statements of work.
  2. Developing reference architectures and best practices to optimize cloud adoption, application performance, security, and costs.
  3. Analyzing business and technical requirements and translating them into designs and approaches.
  4. Participating in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Identifying and prioritizing use cases for implementation.
  6. Building implementation plans based on technical requirements.

Implementation, Innovation, and Learning

  1. Proposing technical cloud-based solutions.
  2. Optimizing cloud adoption, application performance, security, and costs for clients.
  3. Translating requirements into designs and approaches.
  4. Prioritizing use cases for implementation.
  5. Continuously advancing your skills and knowledge in Cloud and DevOps, maintaining up-to-date expertise in Microsoft Azure and AWS/GCP offerings, and obtaining relevant certifications.
  6. Collaborating with team members across multiple cloud-focused projects, ensuring alignment with overall architecture.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Experience as an engineer or in a related role.
  • Proven experience with cloud technologies (especially Azure), project execution, and software development.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, hybrid cloud, deployment options, change management, application modernization, and supporting legacy systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with experience in consulting environments.
  • Security clearance is mandatory; review the Government of Canada website to ensure eligibility, as this is a condition of employment.

Technical expertise areas include:

  • Azure cloud services, including VMs, storage, networking.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, ARM templates).
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • DevOps practices and tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker).
  • Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and other databases.
  • Azure security, identity management, network security, compliance.
  • Monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash.
  • Networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, VPNs.
