Job summary

Source Code Staffing invites applications for a Sr. Storage Analyst role supporting the Government of Alberta data platforms.

The incumbent will design, develop, and implement cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) to enable_government data assets, ensure security and compliance, and collaborate across teams including data science and analytics. The position involves complex cloud architectures and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT or related field of study.
• Able to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during blocktime/change windows outside of normal business hours.
• Automate routine tasks using Azure Automation, Terrafom, PowerShell, GitHub/GitHub Actions, Ansible, and other scripting tools, deployment pipelines and version controls systems - 4 years
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services - 4 years
• Experience functioning in a team/group environment - 4 years
• Experience functioning on an individual basis - 4 years
• Monitor Azure infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage - 4 years
• Deploy, manage, and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage accounts, data services (ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure ML, etc.) and other Azure resources - 4 years
• Maintain and manage Azure cost management and budgeting - 4 years
• Implement and manage Azure security controls including network security groups, Azure Active Directory, and identity and access management - 4 years
• Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations - 4 years

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture for Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Develop scalable, reliable data infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage data platform administration and governance
• Configure cloud-based tools to control cost, security, and compliance
• Work across Azure, Cloudera, Snowflake stacks
• Support data privacy and security in line with policies
• Collaborate to improve cloud and on-premise infrastructure for scalability and availability
• Contribute to an Enterprise Data Strategy and modern data platform features
• Participate in sprint planning, version control, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Document configurations and knowledge transfer for readiness and onboarding
