Job summary

Supreme International is seeking Intermediate and Senior Data Engineers to support Azure data engineering, analytics, and enterprise data integration initiatives within the Government of Alberta. The role is remote in Canada with occasional on-site meetings in Edmonton, AB, and is contracted for 6 months at CAD 60–85 hourly.

Ideal candidates will have extensive Azure, Python/PySpark, SQL, and Talend experience, plus strong Git version control and recent AI-assisted coding experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Workflows, Jobs and Notebooks.
• 3 years designing analytics-ready datasets, semantic layers, data marts and data products.
• 2 years data governance, security and metadata management.
• 4 years Git/GitHub version control.
• 3 years Azure services (Storage, Synapse).
• 5 years Python/PySpark and SQL for ETL/ELT workflows.
• 1 year experience using AI for code generation, automation and productivity.
• 3 years Talend Studio development and 2 years managing Talend Console & TAC.

• 1 year of experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Workflows, Jobs and Notebooks.
• 3 years of experience designing analytics-ready datasets, semantic layers, data marts and data products.
• 2 years of experience in data governance, security and metadata management.
• 4 years of experience with Git/GitHub version control.
• 3 years of experience with Azure services, including Storage and Synapse.
• 5 years of experience with Python/PySpark and SQL for enterprise ETL/ELT workflows.
• 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, automation and productivity.

Senior Data Engineer – Required Experience

• 3 years of experience developing enterprise integration solutions using Talend Studio.
• 5 years of experience administering Talend Management Console (TMC) or Talend Administration Center (TAC).
• 3 years of experience supporting Talend Remote Engines, Job Servers and runtime infrastructure.
• 2 years of experience providing production support, incident management and root-cause analysis.
• 4 years of experience with Git-based SDLC, CI/CD, code reviews, testing and release management.
• 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, automation and productivity.

Shared Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in business requirement analysis, data transformation, cleansing and wrangling.
• 6 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, database design and optimization.
• 2 years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines using Talend.
• 3 years of experience building secure RESTful APIs.
• 3 years of experience with message queuing technologies such as ActiveMQ and Azure Service Bus.
• 1 year of experience integrating ServiceNow with Azure-based Data Management Platforms.
