Job summary

Gordon Food Service in London, ON, is seeking a dedicated AZ driver for evening shifts with a Sunday–Thursday schedule. You will handle local routes, unload and deliver food products, and maintain accurate logs while keeping safety a top priority.

You will work in a team-oriented, family culture with opportunities for advancement and benefits after 30 days of employment. Home daily with overtime opportunities where applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Physically able to lift and move heavy items up to 80 lbs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills in English.
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
• Capable of operating in varied weather and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service and build strong customer relationships.
• Unload and sort food products manually and wheel them to customer locations.
• Operate straight trucks or trailers safely on urban, inter-urban and rural routes.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and keep accurate delivery records.
• Verify product delivery at customer sites and manage invoices.
• Follow health and safety procedures.

AZ Driver Position Highlights:

• Location: London, ON
• Shift: Evening
• Shifts: Sunday to Thursday. 7:00 pm start time (start time may vary)

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required:

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures

DEPOT SPECIFIC JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required.
• Availability to work a full 10 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
