Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Class 1/AZ Driver to join our team in Canada. This role offers local routes with guaranteed home time every day, a starting rate of $26.78, and a comprehensive benefits package after 30 days of employment.

You will deliver food products, provide excellent customer service, and work with a supportive team in a safety-conscious environment. We value reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1/AZ driver’s license.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items.
• Strong communication and customer service skills in English.
• Previous professional driving experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying weather and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Sort and unload food products manually and move them into customer locations.
• Operate straight trucks or trailers safely to transport goods on local routes.
• Perform pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintain delivery records.
• Verify products and invoices at customer locations and document discrepancies.
• Follow health and safety procedures in daily work.

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday - Saturday | Starting between 3AM - 7AM | 5 Days x 8 Hours

What We Require

• Valid Class 1/AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be goal oriented with a positive, "can do" attitude
• This position requires punctuality and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures
