Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking a Company Driver for Canada/US routes. This full-time role involves pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading bulk and dump products, tarp operations, and trailer maintenance. The driver will cross borders, handle cross bows, and operate in varying facilities with attention to safety and accuracy.

Requirements include an AZ license, a good driver’s abstract, and CVOR. Experience with heavy haul and over-the-road driving is preferred, with pre-employment drug testing

Qualifications

• Must have AZ license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• CVOR and safe driving history required.
• Ability to cross Canada/U.S. borders with paperwork in order.
• Experience with heavy haul and over-the-road operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections, detecting mechanical issues before trips.
• Load and unload bulk/dump products safely and efficiently.
• Tarp trailers on dump units; operate tarp crank and secure loads.
• Inspect and clean trailers, including frozen product handling.
• Move cross bows and inspect trailer equipment to ensure safe operation.

Job description

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US
• Openings: 6

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking)
• Cleaning Trailers with frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not
• limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
• We require a pre employment drug and alcohol testing.
