Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking a full-time company driver for a Canada/US route. The role involves pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading bulk and dump products, tarp deployment, and trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities include paperwork, cross-border duties, and using Peoplenet ELD. Must meet physical demands, lift 20–25 kg, and have an AZ license with a clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to climb 12' in and out of dump trailers.
• Must be able to lift 20–25 kg of material in and out of trailers.
• Minimum 1 year heavy haul experience or 3 years over the road experience.
• AZ license is required.
• CVOR and good Driver's Abstract are required.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Load and unload bulk/dump products and secure loads with tarps.
• Tarp trailers and manage cross bows on trailers.
• Keep trailers clean and report defects via paperwork.
• Use Peoplenet electronic logging and complete trip envelopes.

Job description

• Position #: 1439
• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (Opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking.)
• Cleaning Trailers with Frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
