Job summary

Contrans Vrac is hiring a full-time company driver for Canada/US routes. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, tarp handling, and frequent trailer inspections. You will operate tandem/tri-axle trailers, maintain logs, and support safety procedures across facilities.

The role requires AZ license, a valid Driver Abstract, and the ability to cross the Canada–U.S. border. Pre-employment drug testing is required alongside physical fitness for lifting and climbing duties.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approx 2–4 times daily.
• Must be able to lift 20–25 kg of material in & out of trailers, approx 2–4 times daily.
• Minimum of 1 year heavy haul experience or 3 years over the road experience.
• Cross border eligibility between Canada and the U.S.; AZ license required.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Pre-trip inspections with physical checks and hand-assessments.
• Loading and off-loading Bulk / Dump products.
• Tarping trailers on dump units; operate tarp crank.
• Clean trailers after unloading, including frozen product handling.
• Remove cross bows from trailer tops; use hammer as needed.
• Climb in and out of tractor periodically; drive and shift transmission.
• Monitor uneven ground at facilities during load/unload.
• Handle malfunctioning equipment and trapping issues.
• Ensure axle weights compliance and safe operation.

Job description

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US
• Openings: 6

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking)
• Cleaning Trailers with frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
