Job summary

Contrans Vrac seeks a full-time Company Driver for cross-border Canada/US routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections, load and unload bulk materials, tarp and secure cargo, and maintain equipment while operating safely across border locations.

Requirements include AZ license, ability to lift 20–25 kg, and fitness to climb into 12’ high dump trailers; 1 year heavy haul or 3 years over-the-road experience preferred. Workload involves 6 openings.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ into/out of dump trailers.
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg in/out of trailers.
• Minimum 1 year heavy haul experience or 3 years over the road.
• AZ license, CVOR and Drivers Abstract preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and walk around trailers.
• Load and offload bulk/dump products safely.
• Tarp trailers and secure cargo for transit.
• Clean trailers and report any defects or maintenance needs.
• Drive cross-border Canada/US routes and handle dispatch communications.

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking)
• Cleaning Trailers with frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not
• limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
• We require a pre employment drug and alcohol testing.
