Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking a full-time Company Driver for Canada/US routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections, load/unload bulk materials, tarp trailers and ensure trailer safety while handling cross-border duties.

Candidates must have AZ license, a strong CVOR record, and 1 year heavy haul or 3 years over-the-road experience. Expect physical work including climbing into trailers, lifting 20–25 kg, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ into/out of dump trailers.
• Must be able to lift 20–25 kg repeatedly.
• Minimum 1 year heavy haul experience or 3 years over-the-road experience.
• AZ license and clean CVOR/driver's abstract.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and safety checks.
• Load and unload bulk/dump products.
• Tarp trailers and manage tarp crank operations.
• Clean trailers and remove debris after unloading.
• Cross-border duties between Canada and the U.S.
• Operate tandem/tri-axle trailers and drive 1–4 hours segments.
• Report equipment defects and paperwork (logbook, trip envelopes).
• Maintain cleanliness of truck and perform fueling.

Job description

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US
• Openings: 6

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking)
• Cleaning Trailers with frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
