Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking an AZ End Dump Tandem Company Driver for a Canada/US route. The position is full-time with three openings.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading bulk or dump products, tarping trailers, and maintaining clean equipment, with cross-border duties and collaboration with dispatch and safety teams. Applicants must hold an AZ license, have CVOR and a good Driver Abstract, and bring 1 year of heavy haul or 3 years of over-the-road experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to cross Canada-US border.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and safety checks.
• Load and unload bulk/dump products.
• Tarp trailers and secure loads.
• Clean trailers and equipment after use.
• Operate and monitor equipment safely.
• Basic paperwork (logbook, trip envelopes).
• Interact with dispatch, customers, safety and maintenance teams.

Job description

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US
• Openings: 3

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (Opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking.)
• Cleaning Trailers with Frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Sub-Functions:

• All paperwork (logbook, customs, trip envelopes)
• Writing up equipment with defects
• Fueling of truck
• Keeping Truck clean inside
• Use of electronic Logging device (Peoplenet)

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not
• limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
• We require a pre employment drug and alcohol testing.
