The Miller Group is seeking a professional truck driver to transport materials across Northern Ontario. You will operate straight and articulated trucks, perform daily circle checks, and coordinate with dispatch and clients to ensure timely delivery.

Shwe Miikaan is dedicated to fostering equal participation of Robinson Huron Treaty Territory (RHTT) First Nations in Northern Ontario’s infrastructure projects. Since it was formed, Shwe Miikaan Miller has been engaged in a variety of projects ranging from bridge and culvert rehabilitation to road development to aggregate supply.

Minimum Qualifications

• Class DZ license
• Road maintenance experience and knowledge of OTM book 7
• Mechanically inclined to operate small tools and heavy equipment
• Willingness to remain on call and work assigned day, night and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Basic computer skills

Day in the Life

As a truck driver, you will begin to know the highways like the back of your hand, and you will be responsible for transporting precious cargo, operating and driving straight and articulated trucks, loading/unloading materials, and operating tack trucks for paving operations. Strong communications skills will also be necessary as you coordinate with clients, customers and dispatch.

When you are not driving, you will be conducting daily circle checks on vehicles, cleaning, and performing equipment maintenance, with safety as your number one priority. It will also be important to stay organized when completing daily timesheets and log books.

Compensation Data

$28-$32/hr
