Day in the Life / Responsibilities

Our Snow Plow Operators are integral members of the winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, perform snow removal on local roads and highways as per contract requirements. When off the road, you will maintain documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarize yourself with route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call-in requirements during winter storm events.

Minimum Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract/CVOR
• Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
• Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such as patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
• Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission
• Previous experience in winter-works operations
• Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
• Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements
