Job summary

CommerceLink Logistics ULC, a division of Canada Cartage, is seeking a professional AZ/Class 1 driver for overnight and weekend shifts based out of the Cornwall yard. You will be responsible for timely local deliveries, vehicle inspections, accurate documentation, and delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires 3+ years of commercial driving, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and strong communication with Dispatch.

Qualifications

• Age 23 or older
• AZ/Class 1 license with 3 years driving experience
• 3 years of commercial driving experience

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor trailer and safety equipment.
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses.
• Complete all applicable paperwork and maintain Driver Log.
• Communicate with Dispatch.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required.
• Operate satellite tracking equipment.
• Follow Ministry of Transportation and Highway Traffic Act rules.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

Operating tractor trailer equipped with multi-speed transmission (Automatic or Manual) safely by adhering to all safety requirements

What you'll do.

• Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel and air leaks
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses
• Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.
• Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
• Be able to perform physical work at times (lifting in excess of 50lbs)
• Use of satellite tracking equipment
• Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act

Minimum Qualifications.Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.

Age - 23 or older License - AZ / Class 1 Driver's License - 3 years driving experience

Expected hours: 48 per week but could vary depending on the operational needs.
