Job summary

Canada Cartage Group is seeking a professional truck driver for local overnight and weekend deliveries based at the Cornwall yard. You will operate tractor-trailers (automatic or manual), perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain driver logs while providing excellent service to customers.

You will be home daily with safety and compliance at the forefront of every shift. Minimum 3 years of commercial driving with AZ/Class 1 license is required, along with strong communication skills and the

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

Operating tractor trailer equipped with multi-speed transmission (Automatic or Manual) safely by adhering to all safety requirements

What you'll do.

Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel and air leaks
Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses
Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.
Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
Be able to perform physical work at times (lifting in excess of 50lbs)
Use of satellite tracking equipment
Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act

Minimum Qualifications.Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.

Age - 23 or older License - AZ / Class 1 Driver's License - 3 years driving experience

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 48 per week but could vary depending on the operational needs.
