Job summary

Darling Ingredients Canada Inc. is seeking AZ/DZ Drivers to pickup and deliver raw materials and finished goods on a variety of routes and shifts in Ontario. Monday to Friday, 10 to 12 hours per day, with occasional evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities include accurate paperwork, professional customer interactions, and adherence to health and safety rules. Drivers must have an AZ license, a clean driving record, and be willing to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • Valid AZ license and clean driving record.
  • Experience driving within Ontario.
  • Knowledge of HTA and MTO legislation.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive AZ and DZ routes including GTA and Greater Toronto Area.
  • Evening shifts and weekend work as scheduled.
  • Accurate completion and submission of required paperwork.
  • Maintain respectful, professional interactions with customers and suppliers.
  • Follow health and safety rules and report incidents promptly.
  • Keep tractors and trailers clean and in good condition.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Logistics Department, AZ Drivers are responsible for the pick-up and delivery of raw material and finished goods on a variety of routes and shifts.

SCHEDULE:

MONDAY TO FRIDAY 10 TO 12 HOURS PER DAY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:
  • Required at times to drive out-of-town routes into the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto
  • Evening shifts along with weekend work will be required depending on weekly route scheduling.
  • Accurate completion and submission of all required paperwork.
  • Conduct all interactions with customers and suppliers in a respectful, professional, and service oriented manner.
  • Required to formally report any concerns or customer service-related issues.
  • Responsible for following all Company and Health and Safety rules and for communicating all reportable incidents.
  • Responsible to ensure that both tractors and trailers are maintained in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe driving operations at all times.
  • Responsible for effectively and efficiently dealing with ad-hoc issues that may arise.
  • Drivers will be scheduled for AZ and DZ routes.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid AZ License
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service oriented
  • Familiarity driving within the Province of Ontario
  • Working knowledge and adherence to HTA and MTO applicable legislation
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime as required
  • Team oriented and willing to assist with all routes
  • Tasks will include some physical demands such as repetitive pulling, pushing, lifting etc.
  • Ability to complete physical requirements is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the AODA, ESA, OHSA and other federal, and provincial standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the AODA, ESA, OHSA and other federal, and provincial standards
  • Ability to keep up with physically demanding tasks such as repetitive bending, pulling, pushing, lifting etc.
  • Sitting for long stretches at a time (up to 3 hours)
  • Must be able to alternate between walking, standing and moving for periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to climb onto truck trailers, climb truck ladders as required and stretch and view difficult areas
WE OFFER:
  • AZ Driver rate: $31.87 plus overtime after 40 hours
  • DZ Driver Rate: $30.84 Plus overtime after 40 hours
