Job summary
Ryder in Cambridge, Ontario is hiring a Crossborder Driver to transport freight across the Canadian and United States borders. Under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor, you will move freight between company, supplier and customer locations on a daily basis.
This full-time role offers 10 days of paid time off on hire, benefits after 30 days, retirement plans, and a 15% employee stock discount. A valid AZ/Class 1 with air brake endorsement and 9 months driving experience are required.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have at least 9 months verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Must have valid AZ/Class 1 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
Responsibilities
- Operate a single or tandem axle truck for pickup and delivery within US/Canada.
- Complete required driving and delivery documentation (log books, reports).
- Oversee vehicle condition and loading/unloading of freight.
- Unload freight using material handling equipment when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, The Crossborder will be responsible for the transportation and the delivery of freight to company, supplier and/or customer locations across the Canadian and the United States Border.
- Operate a single or tandem axle truck (tractor-trailer combination unit) for the purpose of picking up and/or delivering freight from customer, supplier and/or Company locations within U.S. and Canada
- Complete documentation pertaining to driving and delivery duties (i.e. log book, equipment inspection reports, records distance traveled, verifies and completes customer paperwork)
- Oversee all functions of the vehicle, such as condition of equipment and loading/ unloading of freight
- Unload freight picked up from customer and/or company locations utilizing material handling equipment when required
- Performs other duties as assigned.
