Contract length: 6 months to start, extendable, multi-year journey

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Developer and SQL Server Developer responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and ensuring the performance and availability of applications within the AWS cloud environment, including DBA responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement best practices for AWS applications.
• Create ETL jobs to ingest and move data within AWS using Glue.
• Automate tasks using Glue or CloudWatch scripting.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
• Monitor system health and performance.
• Ensure high performance, availability, security, and sustainability.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time.
• Suggest solutions and optimize processes.
• Document changes and track issues.
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
• Support critical production systems and perform scheduled maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with AWS services like EMR, Lambda, Glue.
• 5+ years experience with Python and PySpark.
• 5+ years experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerShell, C# .NET.
• 3+ years experience with Performance Tuning, Backups, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery.
• Exposure to DevOps/CI tools such as GIT and Bitbucket.
• Strong expertise with CDK or CloudFormation.
• 3+ years experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and team collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Banking experience is a plus.
