Job summary

Conair in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a full-time Buyer to procure parts and commodities for Maintenance and Production across the Conair fleet. You will handle sourcing, vendor communications, and purchase orders, with on-time delivery and cost-conscious decisions a priority.

The role requires ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize to meet maintenance schedules, and resolve issues with defective parts or materials, while supporting AOG operations on a 24/7 on-call basis.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 as the minimum educational requirement.
Some college coursework or diploma is preferred.
Previous purchasing experience, preferably in aviation or related field.
APICS, SCMA, or other SCM designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Launch RFPs and RFQs, obtain quotes, and analyze for best total cost of ownership.
Enter PO data and manage multiple databases to track inventory and requirements.
Coordinate from purchase to receipt of parts and resolve non-conforming items.
Proactively communicate status of orders and expediting needs to stakeholders.
Perform sourcing research on vendors and potential alternatives.
Collaborate with Engineering on product improvements and change requests.
Provide AOG support with a rotational on-call schedule.
Maintain supplier communications and respond to inquiries.
