Job summary

WestJet in Mississauga is seeking an Inventory / Stores professional to support a 24/7 operation, manage aircraft tools, parts and shop supplies, and optimize storage across bases. The role requires handling DG materials and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in warehousing, 1+ year in shipping/receiving, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain security clearances. Shift work, physical tasks, and forklift experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience working in a Stores Warehousing environment with an emphasis on inventory management practices
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a Shipping/Receiving environment
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License and have a clean driver’s abstract
• Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance within 6 months of start date
• Must be able to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operator’s License within 6 months of start date
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, in addition, must be able to meet physical demands of an environment where you will be walking, climbing, lifting andbending repetitively
• Must be able to work shift work – including night shift, Stat holidays, and weekends
• Inventory Management Accredited Program diploma is an asset
• Knowledge of Aviation parts an asset
• Experience in a procurement related role an asset
• Forklift operator experience an asset
• IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate or Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in a friendly and efficient manner to all WestJet Technical Operations personnel
• Support a 24/7, 365-day operation to ensure that aircraft tools, parts, shop supplies and information is readily available
• Maintain inventory levels while optimizing cost, storage space requirements and usage levels for all bases within the WestJet network
• Oversee the overall in and out flow of all WestJet Technical and non-technical inventory
• Ensure all Dangerous Goods Materials are handled in accordance with TDG and IATA shipping requirements (upon certification)
• Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the Computer Tracking System
• Package and prepare all materials for shipping
• Store materials according to original manufacturing storage guidelines
• Source parts and related equipment within inventory to minimize aircraft on ground situations
• Respond to changing priorities while maintaining a safe operating environment
