Job summary

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership delivering a major infrastructure program at Toronto Pearson. We seek an experienced on-site leader to assist the Superintendent and Construction Manager in safe, high-quality execution.

You will coordinate subcontractors, manage logistics, and support lookahead schedules across busy airport work zones. The role demands strong communication, field leadership, and the ability to work nights/weekends as required to support

Qualifications

• Proven experience in assistant superintendent/senior field roles on large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong reading of drawings, specs, schedules, and project docs.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving in fast-paced construction.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent and Construction Manager in overseeing daily site construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors, labour forces, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain productivity and site readiness.
• Maintain a strong field presence to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with PACT, GTAA, and project requirements.
• Lead daily toolbox talks and safety briefings, enforce site safety protocols, and participate in regular site inspections.
• Manage day-to-day site logistics, including laydown areas, site access, hoarding, equipment movement, deliveries, and work-zone coordination.
• Support the Construction Manager and Superintendent in maintaining 2-week and 6-week lookahead schedules and achieving project milestones.
• Monitor field progress and identify potential delays, conflicts, or constraints early, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Review completed and ongoing work for compliance with drawings, specifications, approved procedures, and project quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, checklists, deficiencies, and other required field documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, progress photos, productivity records, and issue tracking.
• Coordinate field interfaces with other Sub-Programs, airport operations, utilities, subcontractors, and GTAA stakeholders.
• Support field-level responses to RFIs, NCRs, design clarifications, and technical issues.
• Assist with coordination of multiple work fronts and ensure subcontractors have the information, access, materials, and resources required to execute their work.
• Escalate significant safety, schedule, quality, and coordination issues to the Superintendent and Construction Manager.
• Promote a professional, collaborative, and accountable site culture focused on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
