Job summary

Solotech Inc. is seeking an on-site AV technician to manage room operations, monitor systems and support webcast needs. You will respond to clients’ technical requests and build strong relationships by offering proactive service and practical solutions.

The role requires 3+ years in a similar position, knowledge of sound, video and lighting equipment, and familiarity with conferencing tools and home automation. Availability for atypical hours is expected to align with project needs.

Qualifications

  • DEC or DEP (electronics), electronic engineering, television production or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of sound, video projection and lighting equipment at the consumer and commercial level.
  • Basic knowledge of home automation, video conferencing, digital audio processing.
  • Knowledge of networking and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license (an asset).
  • Must be available to work atypical hours depending on the project.
  • Relational skills and ability to communicate directly with the client.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper functioning of the rooms, perform technical monitoring and handle webcasts.
  • Respond to clients' technical needs in a courteous and timely manner to meet their expectations.
  • Develop excellent relationships with clients.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by being proactive to their needs.
  • Listening and understanding customer needs.
  • Re-assign requests to the right channel.
  • Presenting solutions to customers.
  • Document the work done in the ticketing tool.
  • Update customer and Solotech internal documentation in accordance with changes made on site.
  • Make recommendations and execute maintenance and parts replacement.
  • Collaborate with the various stakeholders to ensure the best possible customer service.
  • Find replacement solutions in order to try to make a system functional despite an equipment failure.

Your profile:
  • DEC or DEP (electronics), electronic engineering, television production or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of sound, video projection and lighting equipment at the consumer and commercial level;
  • Basic knowledge of home automation (Crestron, AMX), video conferencing (Polycom, Tandberg, Zoom, Teams), digital audio processing (SymNet, Soundweb, Biamp, QSC);
  • Knowledge of networking;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Valid driver's license (an asset);
  • Must be available and open to working atypical hours depending on the project (early morning or evening depending on the client's needs);
  • Relational skills and ability to communicate directly with the client;
  • Provide excellent customer service;
  • Team oriented and collaborative;
  • Good management of priorities and respect for deadlines and tight deadlines;
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and adapt to change;
  • Ability to work with limited information (self-reliance and resourcefulness)

  • Solotech provides a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position in accordance with Ontario pay transparency requirements. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, location, experience, training, certifications, and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined at the time of hire. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly wage range is $23,33 to $33,51.
