Job summary
VON Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, person-centred care in clients' homes, clinics, or virtually in Sydney, Cape Breton. You will work with autonomy, manage wounds, chronic diseases, IV therapy, and collaborate with healthcare teams while engaging families and communities.
The role involves travel, a flexible day schedule with rotations, and ongoing professional development within a not-for-profit home-care setting.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
- Community health experience is an asset.
- Must enjoy driving and have a personal vehicle with valid license and insurance.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check; Vulnerable Sector/Child Abuse Registry checks may be required.
- Must be able to wear PPE.
Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans.
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Wound care including simple and advanced/negative pressure wounds.
- Chronic disease management and diabetes care.
- IV therapy and CVAD management.
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Dialysis management and rehabilitative programs.
- Palliative and end-of-life care; medication management.
