Job summary

Centennial Nissan, Charlottetown is seeking a motivated Automotive Technician for a 3-month contract. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles, while prioritizing safety and quality.

You’ll work with service advisors to deliver excellent customer service and learn in a team-focused environment. Requirements include a valid Canadian driver’s license; Red Seal is preferred or in progress; knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics; PEI MV Inspection license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Canadian driver’s license.
• Red Seal Certification preferred or in progress.
• PEI Motor Vehicle Inspection License is an asset.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnostics.
• Strong quality control and accurate record-keeping.
• Attention to detail and safety.
• Strong organizational skills for a clean, safe workspace.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

NOW HIRING: Automotive Technician

LOCATION: Centennial Nissan, Charlottetown, PE

HOURS: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and every other Saturday 8am to 12pm.

WAGES: Competitive flat-rate equivalent to $28.00–$35.00 per hour.

APPLICABLE SKILLS:

• Valid Canadian driver’s license required.
• Licensed Red Seal Endorsement Certificate is preferred, or
• Must be currently working towards Automotive Technician Red Seal Certificate
• PEI Motor Vehicle Inspection License will be considered an asset
• Knowledgeable in vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnostics
• Excellent standards of quality control and accurate record-keeping
• Attention to detail ensuring precision in all tasks
• Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and safe work environment

JOB TASKS:

Diagnose and Repair Vehicles:

Perform accurate and timely diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services on a wide range of vehicles.

Perform Routine Maintenance:

Conduct regular vehicle maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and filter replacements to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the vehicles.

Inspect and Test Vehicles:

Conduct thorough inspections and test drives to identify mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle’s overall condition meets safety and performance standards.

Use Diagnostic Tools and Equipment:

Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to accurately identify and resolve vehicle issues.

Follow Manufacturer Specifications:

Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and specifications when performing repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring the highest quality of service.

Document Services and Repairs:

Maintain detailed records of services performed for accurate customer records.

Maintain Clean and Safe Work Environment:

Keep the work area clean and organized, following safety protocols

Ongoing training:

Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through training, workshops, etc.

Collaborate with Team Members:

Work closely with other technicians, service advisors, and dealership staff to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service.
