Job summary

Davis GMC Buick Lethbridge is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead our team of skilled Technicians and Apprentices in a busy GM service department. This role combines hands-on work with leadership, mentoring, and ensuring high-quality repairs.

The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Technician License with GM product knowledge, a strong team mindset, and excellent communication with customers and colleagues to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Technician License with GM products experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of shop systems and processes.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to lead, mentor and support the team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the service shop, including monitoring the completion and quality of work
• Provide support to Technicians and Apprentices and hold them accountable to achieving productivity goals
• Provide guidance and advice on best practices including quoting, diagnostics and repairs
• Manage and monitor the workflow in the shop to maximize efficiency
• Training and onboarding of new hires to the team
• Ensure safety protocols in the shop are met, including the appropriate use of PPE, tools and equipment
• Communicate with customers when necessary regarding repairs or other issues
• Communicate and work closely with other Department Managers, working effectively to identify opportunities and resolve issues
• Maintain your own monthly productivity goals
• Perform other duties as required

This position is considered a working Foreman, meaning you will be required to be on the tools where needed. Our ideal candidate is a highly productive Technician and comes with a background of in-depth General Motors knowledge, is a strong team player who demonstrates a positive attitude and has a willingness to help others.

Requirements:

• Possess a Journeyman Technician License with experience working on GM products is required

• A high-performing producer who demonstrates a strong working knowledge of our systems and processes with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Committed to working with leadership to ensure goal alignment and achievement
• Valid Driver’s License
