Job summary

Magna International is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer in Canada to lead PPAP/APQP activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure strict adherence to quality standards across automotive programs.

You will drive rigorous process controls, analyze PFMEA and CAPA, review drawings and GD&T, and mentor teams through new program launches, field support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of community college diploma/certificate.
• 5-7 years of work-related experience.
• Completion of a post-secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering.
• ASQC certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
• Tier 1 automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead PPAP timing (Phased PPAP) and manage planned milestones.
• Ensure APQP requirements are known, tracked and adhered to.
• Review Government Approvals and develop Inspection Standards.
• Lead plant trials for engineering changes, tool moves and new program launches.
• Lead Launch and Warranty issue resolution for customer quality concerns; compile 8D/7 Steps/5 Phases reports.
• Participate in Warranty reviews and analysis at customer center.
• Manage new model launch field support for containment and issue closures.
• Coordinate internal and supplier drawing reviews; prepare and approve Control Plans.
• Develop PV plans with reliability and RC requirements per program timing.
• Develop, implement and supervise containment systems.
• Participate in PFMEA reviews and sign-offs.
• Review BOM and perform related sign-offs.
• Coordinate supplier deviation requests and SRCCDs/EDRs closures.
• Support early supplier involvement with design and purchasing.
• Adhere to CPDP and program planning requirements.
