Job summary

The City of Toronto is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to maintain and repair City vehicles and equipment at the Eastern Yard. The role requires using a variety of hand and power tools, performing overhaul and engine tune-ups, and diagnosing transmissions, clutches, differentials, brakes, and drive lines.

• Candidates must possess and maintain a kit of tools satisfactory to the Garage Supervisor and according to the basic tool requirements of the Central Garage.
• They must be able to work in a computerised environment.
• They must perform inspections and safety checks.
• They are expected to provide work direction and training to other staff.
