Job summary

Queen's Park Ontario Provincial Government in Toronto, ON is seeking an experienced Automation Testing Specialist to lead testing efforts for enterprise-scale applications onsite at Toronto. You will develop testing strategies, plan activities, and ensure quality and reliability of complex software solutions.

The role requires hands-on testing, experience with both manual and automated testing, and strong knowledge of QA processes, SDLC, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software testing experience in enterprise IT.
  • Hands-on manual and automated testing experience.
  • Experience developing automated testing solutions.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing.
  • Experience with AODA testing and compliance.
  • Experience creating testing strategies, cases, scripts and reports.
  • Experience with Selenium and Postman for API testing.
  • Experience with JMeter/LoadRunner for performance testing.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps.
  • End-to-end testing of complex systems.
  • Knowledge of QA standards and security testing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on testing strategies, test plans, testing tool selection, and resource requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate testing efforts for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Execute systems integration testing, specialized testing, and user acceptance testing activities, including stress testing.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, test cases, and test data.
  • Execute testing across various system components and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with testing leads, IT leads, project teams, and stakeholders throughout analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support phases.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and coordinate business validation efforts.
  • Create testing strategy documentation, testing reports, and quality assurance artifacts.
  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC.
  • Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects and quality issues.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Testing Specialist tosupport enterprise-scale technology initiatives through comprehensive qualityassurance and testing services. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor developing testing strategies, planning and executing testing activities,and ensuring the quality and reliability of complex software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provideguidance on testing strategies, test plans, testing tool selection, andresource requirements.
  • Plan,organize, and coordinate testing efforts for large-scale systems in bothGUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Executesystems integration testing, specialized testing, and user acceptancetesting activities, including stress testing.

Qualifications
Core Skills and Experience (40%)
  • 10+years of experience in software testing within enterprise-level ITenvironments and large-scale systems.
  • Hands-onexperience with both manual testing and automated testingtools/frameworks.
  • Experiencedeveloping and planning automated testing solutions.
  • Deepunderstanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.
  • Extensiveexperience with AODA testing and compliance requirements.
  • Experiencecreating and maintaining testing strategies, test cases, scripts, andreports.
  • Experiencewith test automation tools such as Selenium and/or Postman for APItesting.
  • Experiencewith performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
  • Experienceusing defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similarplatforms.
  • Provenexperience performing end-to-end testing of complex systems, coveringfunctional and non-functional requirements.
  • Knowledgeof quality assurance compliance standards and security testing bestpractices.
Technical Skills and Experience (35%)
  • Strongunderstanding of relational databases such as SQL and Oracle.
  • Knowledgeof cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
  • Experiencewith CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and GitLab.

Work Arrangement
