Job summary

WhiteWater is hiring a Junior AutoCAD and Systems Support Engineer for an 18‑month contract in Richmond, BC. The role focuses on ensuring continuous availability of engineering systems, troubleshooting user issues, and learning to customize engineering software.

You will become a subject‑matter expert in AutoCAD and related applications, liaise with CAD/PLM vendors, and contribute to upgrades, documentation, and development efforts within an IT/engineering context.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from a recognized university.
• Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC.
• Hands-on AutoCAD experience; similar CAD software is a plus.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP, or BIM systems.
• Software development and customization using Visual Basic, C#, SQL.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for users of the engineering systems.
• Become a subject-matter expert in AutoCAD and related applications.
• Liaise with CAD and PLM providers to address bugs and enhancements.
• Participate in upgrades, patches, and system improvements focusing on stability and user impact.
• Create and maintain clear user-facing documentation.
• Contribute to software development efforts using IT standards for coding, version control and change management.
• Align goals with departmental objectives and conduct performance feedback during reviews.
• Execute responsibilities safely and professionally in line with legal and ethical standards.
• Respectful, positive communication across teams.
