The Office of Risk Management (ORM) supports the implementation of programs, policies, and practices to manage RSM Canada LLP's risks. Audit Quality & Risk Management (AQRM), within ORM, monitors the firm’s audit practice by overseeing activities such as the System of Quality Management (CSQM 1), facilitating regulatory inspections (including CPA bodies and CPAB), internal monitoring, and other projects. AQRM collaborates with the National Professional Standards Group (NPSG) to develop policies, tools, guidance, and training. Relocation is not required. The Senior Manager will also engage with RSM US LLP on certain projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist and report to the Audit Quality and Risk Leader in Canada.
2. Lead and oversee engagement and internal monitoring programs to ensure alignment with the firm’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Manage monitoring related to the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM) and assist in evaluating its effectiveness.
4. Coordinate with regulatory bodies such as CPAB, PCAOB, CPA Provincial bodies, and CIRO for inspections, including root cause analysis and remediation planning.
5. Support engagement teams during external inspections.
6. Collaborate with AQRM members to evaluate and improve the SOQM annually.
7. Lead root cause analyses on audit quality issues identified through various reviews and inspections.
8. Prepare and present updates to leadership and communicate audit quality matters to senior executives.
9. Handle other assignments related to incident response, compliance, and quality initiatives.
10. Participate in quality initiatives, coach teams on audit quality topics, and develop professional education courses.
11. Perform ad hoc projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

1. CPA license in good standing.
2. Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience.
3. Knowledge of CAS, IFRS, and ASPE.
4. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
5. Proven track record of excellence and strong social skills.
6. Ability to adapt quickly and maintain confidentiality.
7. High attention to detail and proofreading skills.
8. Leadership ability to guide and mentor teams.
9. Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
10. Effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with CPAB, PCAOB, or provincial regulatory inspections.
2. Familiarity with audit tools like CaseWare, IDEA, Data Snipper, Alteryx, or similar.
3. Experience auditing internal controls in a large professional services environment.
4. Ability to lead inspections and projects, and support change management.
