The City of Cornwall is seeking a Coordinator I, Accounting and Auditing to ensure financial accuracy and compliance across municipal operations. The role includes auditing, overseeing AP workflows, grant reporting, and collaboration with departments to resolve financial inquiries.

Required is a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 3 years in municipal accounting or budgeting and strong MS Excel and ERP skills. This is a temporary vacancy in a dynamic finance team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal accounting, financial reporting, or budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of PSAS and Ontario municipal financial regulations.

Responsabilités

• Audit and review financial work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and policy adherence.
• Identify corrections for discrepancies and advocate process improvements.
• Conduct periodic internal audits of financial transactions and processes.
• Oversee accounts payable input accuracy and workflow; manage payments.
• Process online payments and pre-authorized debits.
• Prepare external funding reports and grant reporting for ministries.
• Compile and submit monthly HST returns per regulations.
• Present audit findings and financial performance to stakeholders.
