Location: Nashville, TN Metropolitan Area (with potential local travel)

Position Summary:

The State of Tennessee’s Unified Communications and Collaboration team is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Audio Visual (AV) Technician. This position will assist in the support, installation, and basic troubleshooting of audiovisual systems used in executive and departmental conference rooms. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior AV personnel and contribute to ensuring smooth and reliable communication technologies across various state facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of integrated audiovisual systems, video conferencing systems, and related hardware.
  • Support conference room technologies, including display systems, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems.
  • Provide initial triage and basic troubleshooting for AV equipment and conferencing software such as Webex and Microsoft Teams.
  • Assist in documenting AV configurations, user guides, and equipment inventory.
  • Support customers in the setup and use of AV and conferencing tools before and during scheduled meetings.
  • Collaborate with the UCC team to support day-to-day operations and small-scale project work.
  • Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting up to 60 lbs and working in tight spaces (e.g., under conference tables).
  • Participate in local travel within the Nashville metropolitan area as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience or formal training in audiovisual support, IT help desk, or a related technical field.
  • Exposure to or familiarity with audiovisual systems including Crestron, Cisco videoconferencing systems, or Biamp audio mixers is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of or experience using Webex and/or Microsoft Teams for video conferencing and collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and accurately document work performed.
