Job summary

Pacificom Integration Ltd in Surrey, BC is seeking an experienced Audio Visual & Public Address Technician. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, program support, and service AV and Public Address systems on a variety of customer sites.

This hands-on role requires quality workmanship, familiarity with low-voltage technology, and strong problem-solving skills. You will collaborate with project management, sales, and service teams to meet customer expectations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in AV/PA
• Experience installing and troubleshooting low-voltage systems
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Experience with IP-based systems is an asset

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and commission Audio Visual and Public Address systems.
• Install speakers, amplifiers, microphones, displays, projectors, control equipment, racks, and associated components.
• Install and configure IP-based Public Address and Mass Notification systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, specifications, and system layouts.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
• Identify and resolve installation and equipment issues in the field.
• Assist with system programming and configuration as required.
• Complete equipment rack builds, cable management, labeling, and system terminations.
• Verify system operation and complete commissioning documentation.
• Provide service and technical support for existing customer systems.
• Work with Project Managers and Engineers to identify and resolve project issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers and contractors onsite.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Audio Visual & Public Address Technician to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

The Audio Visual & Public Address Technician will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, programming support, and service of AV and Public Address systems.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands low-voltage technology, and enjoys solving technical problems in the field.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Project Management, Sales, and Service teams to ensure systems are installed correctly, commissioned properly, and delivered to our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and commission Audio Visual and Public Address systems.
• Install speakers, amplifiers, microphones, displays, projectors, control equipment, racks, and associated low-voltage components.
• Install and configure IP-based Public Address and Mass Notification systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, specifications, and system layouts.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
• Identify and resolve installation and equipment issues in the field.
• Assist with system programming and configuration as required.
• Complete equipment rack builds, cable management, labeling, and system terminations.
• Verify system operation and complete commissioning documentation.
• Provide service and technical support for existing customer systems.
• Work with Project Managers and Engineers to identify and resolve project issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, electricians, and other trades onsite.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow Pacificom installation standards, safety requirements, and project procedures.
• Travel to customer sites throughout BC and Alberta (if required).

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in AV and/or Public Address
• Experience installing and troubleshooting low-voltage systems.
• Strong understanding of basic electrical and low-voltage principles.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience with IP-based systems and network fundamentals is an asset.
• Experience with commercial or institutional AV/PA systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience with IP-based Public Address/Mass Notification systems is an asset.
• Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Q-SYS experience or certification is an asset.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Valid driver's licence
• Ability to travel and work at customer sites as required.
• Ability to lift equipment and work from ladders or lifts when required.
