RSM is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team. You will work as part of a team on diverse client engagements within our national practice. Our clients include local, national, and internationally recognized companies. Our assurance professionals help companies improve performance through challenging business cycles.
Responsibilities:
Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations, including coordinating audit, review engagements, and compilations of financial statements, disclosures, and other client deliverables (such as corporate income tax, personal income tax, and trust income tax compliance).
Assess risk and design communication procedures for engagement teams.
Utilize RSM’s review, compilation, and audit methodology effectively.
Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
Understand the skillsets of Senior Associates and Supervisors, monitor their work, and provide coaching notes.
Supervise engagement teams, facilitate fieldwork, and report on productivity and adherence to schedules.
Maintain client contact throughout the year to understand significant developments and their impact on current engagements.
Develop team members through training, career advising, and participation in firm initiatives.
Read industry publications and share relevant information with clients.
Address client concerns proactively and escalate issues when necessary.
Understand RSM’s services and discuss potential opportunities with clients.
Develop relationships with external Centers of Influence to foster business growth.
Manage project profitability.
Communicate accounting and engagement matters to senior management and partners.
Identify performance improvement opportunities.
Maintain professional development through ongoing education.
Stay updated on GAAP and firm standards and policies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
Active CPA designation in good standing.
At least 5 years of experience in a public accounting environment.
Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
Understanding of compilation, review, audit, and tax services, with knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
Proven ability to build profitable, sustainable client relationships.
Minimum of 4 years of team leadership or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience directing and deploying staff on multiple simultaneous engagements.

Compensation Range: $79,500 - $135,000. Candidates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
