MNP is proudly Canadian. This internship with the Assurance & Accounting team offers hands-on experience in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax, while you develop IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge and professional client service skills.

Based in Surrey, the role supports multiple client engagements, with travel as needed. You’ll contribute to financial statements, reports and engagement findings as you work toward CPA prerequisites and a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred).
• Pursuing prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Previous accounting-related office experience is considered an asset.
• Customer service experience is considered an asset.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE.
• Set-up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform AR/AP, asset acquisition/disposition and payroll walk-through with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets and payables.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and client summaries.
• Collaborate with engagement team and client contacts.
• Contribute to improving work processes using internal systems.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
