Job summary

MNP is seeking an intern for May to August 2027 within Assurance & Accounting. You will work on compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax while gaining exposure to IFRS, GAAP and ASPE in a fast-moving Canadian firm.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, contributing to financial reporting, and learning through hands-on projects with mentoring from seasoned professionals. Travel flexibility is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with accounting/finance focus, or equivalent.
• Working towards CPA-PEP prerequisites.
• Prior accounting office experience is an asset.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE in daily work.
• Set up client files and manage multiple engagements.
• Perform AR/AP, asset movements and payroll walkthroughs for clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P/L and related reports.
• Review financial entries and evidence for accuracy.
• Establish chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client correspondence and engagement findings.
• Collaborate with engagement team and client contacts.
• Contribute to process improvements and use of internal systems.
