ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Tax Manager – Audits and Special Projects will support the North American Tax team in Mississauga, Ontario. Responsibilities include handling audits (external and SOX), supporting compliance, and participating in special projects.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support tax functions in responding to external tax authority queries and internal audits.
  • Assist in tax planning and special projects.
  • Help analyze and implement changes in tax legislation.
  • Assist in preparing income and indirect tax returns and tax provisions.
  • Maintain documentation supporting tax positions and audits.
  • Ensure tax controls are compliant with SOX and monitor updates.
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors.
  • Identify process improvements for tax audits.
  • Contribute to team KPIs like cash taxes and ETR.
  • Stay updated on tax regulation changes and incorporate them into policies.
  • Promote safety and environmental policies in the workplace.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field; CPA or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of accounting/tax experience, preferably in a multinational or large corporation.
  • Knowledge of tax laws, IFRS, US GAAP, and proficiency in MS Office and Tax software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Additional Requirements:

  • Industry experience in manufacturing or construction is a plus.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and PPE use, including being clean-shaven for respirator fit testing.
