Job summary

Alberta Health Services is recruiting Associate Physicians for multiple Edmonton Zone postings through the ACSAP pathway. The program offers six-month assessment and evaluation, leading to potentially full-time acute care coverage in Surgery, Family Medicine, Neurology, Thoracic, General Internal Medicine, and more.

Positions involve day and after-hours coverage, integration into existing health-care teams, and collaborative care with fellows, NPs, residents and associates.

Qualifications

• Only International Medical Graduates (IMGs) who have submitted a complete application package to ACSAP and shared the applicable documentation according to the program requirements.
• Must have one of: A current Limited Practice Register - Clinical Assistant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, or an active ACSAP application, or be eligible to participate in ACSAP and have initiated the application process.
• English Language Test that will NOT expire within 3 months of the posting closing date.

Responsibilities

• All clinical activities performed under supervision of the surgeon/physician lead and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Some responsibilities include completing admissions, ordering and performing selected diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, assessing medical needs and planning care during hospitalization.
