Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking an accomplished Associate Partner to lead actuarial consulting in the Defined Benefit space. You will drive client relationships, provide strategic actuarial guidance, and lead business development within Retirement Consulting.

You will oversee design and management of retirement plans, ALM studies, risk frameworks, and mentoring of the team to deliver high-quality results for clients across Canada.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of pension plan consulting experience.
• Actuarial designation FCIA/ASA/FSA or equivalent.
• Strong client relationship skills, including C-suites.
• Deep actuarial, financial markets and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Client Relationship Management: build and maintain strong client partnerships; understand needs and provide tailored actuarial solutions.
• Business Development: lead growth initiatives for Retirement Consulting and position TELUS Health as a market leader.
• Strategic Consulting: design and manage retirement plans, assess funding, develop ALM strategies, and implement risk management frameworks.

What you’ll do…

• Client Relationship Management: as a trusted advisor, responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients; understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

• Business Development: play a crucial role in driving business growth for Retirement Consulting by identifying new business opportunities with existing and new clients positioning TELUS Health as a leader in the market.

• Strategic Consulting: provide strategic consulting services to clients by helping them design and manage retirement plans, assess plan funding and risk, develop comprehensive asset‑liability management strategies, conduct ALM studies, and implement risk management frameworks that align with plan objectives and risk tolerance. Offer insights and recommendations based on your deep understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, investment strategies, and industry trends.

• Team Leadership: lead team engagement by providing mentorship, guidance and technical expertise to team members, fostering their professional development. Ensure effective teamwork, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

You have…

• 10+ years of experience in pension plan consulting

• Professional actuarial designation such as FCIA, ASA or FSA

• Strong client relationship management, up to C‑suite, based on trusted advisor model

• Solid understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, and industry developments and emerging trends

• Experience in asset‑liability modeling and risk strategy development

• Ability to identify new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and meet budget and profitability targets

• Proven leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
