Job summary

Uber Freight is seeking an Associate Manager, Operations, to oversee a group of client accounts and support the operations team. This on-site role in Oakville, ON focuses on maintaining efficient transportation solutions and reporting on standard workflows to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

You will lead process improvements, manage carrier relations, and deliver performance insights through BI reports while coordinating cross-functional efforts with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• 2+ years of management experience required.
• 5+ years in Transportation / Logistics.
• Advanced computer skills with MS Tools/Google Workspace.
• Ability to run BI reports and deliver insights to managers.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Associate Manager, Operations, is responsible for managing a single or group of client(s). This includes providing support to the operations team and reporting to clients as needed. This position is also responsible for managing the daily operations, maintaining and reporting on standard work processes to ensure that the transportation solution for each account is fully maintained for accuracy and efficiency. This position will be located on-site at Uber Freight’s Oakville, ON office. Some travel may be required to on-site customer locations.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement regarding processes, cost, service, and profitability
  Conflict resolution and problem solving
• Determine eligibility for additional non-committed freight to be awarded to internal brokerage services and actively support and encourage the awards
• Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports
• Negotiate and contract rate agreements with carriers, reconcile established rate levels with available purchased transportation providers, seek out new carriers to provide service at competitive rate levels
• Rate Quotes
  
• Monitor and hold team accountable for all key job functions
  
• Review, analyze, and understand matters related to P&Ls
  
• Deliver cost savings / cost containment to customer and/or Uber Freight

Basic Qualifications

• University or College Degree
• Minimum 2 years of management experience
• Minimum 5 years of Transportation / Logistics Experience
• Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Tools / Google Workspace
• Reporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand report, and offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge and utilization of the appropriate TMS or similar software
• Proven track record of continuous improvement initiatives with internal or external ROI’s
• Project Management or Implementation experience
• Experience working with AI tools and incorporating into daily work for frontline team members
