Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a senior Business Analysis leader to establish and grow a robust BA and UAT practice within our Digital Technology organization. You will coach teams, implement best practices, and align delivery with business objectives across Insurance, Wealth, and Workplace Solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in financial services BA, strong leadership, and stakeholder management. Agile experience and professional certifications are valued.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience in financial services.
  • Experience leading UAT activities and test sign-off processes.
  • Previous people leadership with coaching, performance management and resource planning.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building across all levels.
  • Experience in Agile environments; CBAP/CCBA/PMP are assets.

  • Lead and develop a team of Business Analysts and UAT professionals.
  • Implement BA and UAT best practices and governance.
  • Manage resource allocation and workload across initiatives.
  • Oversee UAT activities including test planning and defect management.
  • Partner with business, technology and operations to drive delivery outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and provide insights.
  • Resolve complex business and testing issues and escalate risks as appropriate.

What you will do

Lead,coachand develop a team of Business Analysts and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuouslearningand high performance.

Implement Business Analysis and UAT best practices, methodologies,standardsand governance to drive consistency,qualityand continuous improvement across the practice.

Manage resource assignment, teamcapacityand workload distribution across multiple initiatives, ensuring resources are aligned to business priorities and delivery commitments.

Lead work intake and prioritisation activities, balancing competing demands and making resourcing recommendations to support strategic and operationalobjectives.

Oversee UAT activities across a portfolio of projects, including test planning, execution support, defect management, issueresolutionand business readiness, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and quality expectations.

Partner with business, technology and operational leaders to understandobjectives, assess impacts,identifyopportunitiesand support successful delivery outcomes.

Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and providing recommendations, status updates, riskassessmentsand insights to support decision-making.

Provide leadership in resolving complex business, delivery and testing issues,facilitatingdiscussions, drivingdecisionsand escalating risks asappropriate.

Support strategic initiatives across Insurance, Wealth, Workplace Solutions and Operations through effective business analysis, stakeholderengagementand delivery leadership.

Champion a culture of innovation, continuousimprovementand operational excellence byidentifyingopportunities to enhance processes,toolsand ways of working.

What you will bring

5+ years of Business Analysis experience with a proventrack recordin the financial services industry, preferably within insurance.

Experience leading or supporting User Acceptance Testing activities, including test planning, execution, defectmanagementand business sign-off processes.

Previouspeople leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, mentoring, performance management, resourceplanningand team development.

Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities,allocatingresourcesand balancing workloads across multiple projects and initiatives.

Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation, including senior leaders.

Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity, navigate complex issues and drive practical, business-focused solutions.

Excellent analytical,problem-solvingand decision‑making skills with the ability to assess impacts, evaluate options and provide sound recommendations.

Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, including experience leading workshops, presenting to leadershipteamsand managing challenging stakeholder discussions.

Passion for building high-performing teams and creating an environment where individuals can grow, contribute and be successful.

University degree or equivalent education and experience. Experience working in Agile environments and certifications such as IIBA CBAP, CCBA, PMP or testing-related certifications are considered assets.

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London, Toronto, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $75,500 - $125,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
