Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Energy and Natural Resources team in Calgary. You will lead cost estimates from concept to execution, review tender returns, and guide value engineering to maximize client value.

You will work with clients and consultants across each project stage, ensure lifecycle cost considerations and sustainability are integrated, and help establish benchmarks for major initiatives in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cost estimating across all project phases.
• Engineering/Construction Management degree or equivalent.
• Membership in CIQS/RICS is a bonus.
• Proficiency with cost estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Managing the development of cost estimates for projects from concept through execution.
• Analyzing tender returns to ensure value for money.
• Engaging in value engineering discussions to identify the best solution for the client.
• Providing life cycle cost and sustainability guidance.
• Benchmarking for validation and target-setting on major projects.
• Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.

Who are you?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in:

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cost estimating positions across all project phases


• A recognized university degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Construction Management or a relevant subject


• Membership in relevant professional organizations is a bonus (CIQS/RICS)


• Knowledge and proficiency with cost estimating tools
