Job summary

SickKids Foundation in Toronto is seeking an Associate Director, One-Time Donor Marketing to lead donor engagement, retention and revenue growth across the Annual Giving portfolio. You will report to the Director, Segment Marketing and supervise four direct reports in a cross-functional team.

The role demands strategic planning, multi-channel campaigns, budget oversight and strong collaboration with Marketing, Analytics, CRM and external agencies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership of integrated, performance-driven program.
  • Experience in CRM, lifecycle, retention, fundraising, or direct response marketing.
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven success leading complex, multi-channel campaigns from strategy through optimisation.
  • Deep understanding of segmentation, personalization, donor/customer journeys, and retention strategies.
  • Experience directly leading people, coaching and developing team members.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve processes and/or work output.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the marketing strategy for Annual Giving, Product Marketing (Symbolic Giving) and Lead Generation, including acquisition, retention, stewardship, reactivation, and donor value growth.
  • Develop annual strategic plans, performance frameworks, and KPIs aligned to organisational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve donor journeys, engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Provide strategic oversight of key donor segments, including active, high-value, new, and lapsed donors.
  • Lead execution of marketing campaigns across direct mail, email, digital, social, and other channels.
  • Oversee campaign strategy, audience segmentation, briefing, creative development, execution, testing, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor portfolio and campaign performance across revenue, engagement, retention, and efficiency metrics.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture focused on improving campaign effectiveness, donor experience, and operational efficiency.

Description of the Position:

The Associate Director, One-Time Donor Marketing leads donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth across the One-Time Donor (Annual Giving) portfolio, and reports into the Director, Segment Marketing. The role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that strengthen donor relationships and maximize lifetime value.

This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the One-Time Donor Marketing portfolio, overseeing planning, execution, optimisation, budget management, and team leadership. The Associate Director works closely with cross-functional partners and external agencies to deliver integrated, donor-centric programs that support Foundation revenue goals, donor experience objectives, and organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

Portfolio Strategy & Growth
  • Lead the marketing strategy for Annual Giving, Product Marketing (Symbolic Giving) and Lead Generation, including acquisition, retention, stewardship, reactivation, and donor value growth.

Campaign Leadership

Financial Management
  • Manage portfolio and campaign budgets, including planning, forecasting, spend tracking, and reporting.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and recommend resource allocation to support revenue and engagement goals.
People & Partner Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of four direct reports.
  • Set priorities, manage workload and capacity, and support professional growth through regular feedback and development.
  • Build strong relationships across Marketing, Philanthropy, Analytics, CRM, Digital, Creative, Operations, Finance, Legal, and external agency partners.

Qualifications:

Total Compensation Package:

ExpectedHiring Salary Range : $99,297.00 – $124,121.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $142,739.00 To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate Director, One-Time Donor Marketing.

To help you lead in the fight for kids’ health and to support your health, wellness, and career growth, in addition to competitive compensation, we offer a modified benefit package which includes health (drugs, paramedical, vision coverage) and dentalcoverage.

Position Status: Temporary Full-Time Contract (14 Months)

Hours:Hybrid work model: minimum two days per week in-office (Tuesday and Wednesday).
