Job summary

RBC Capital Markets in Toronto, ON invites an experienced Lead Murex Reporting Developer to oversee the Murex reporting team for Credit & Rates Derivatives, delivering data services between trading systems and risk, finance and operations applications.

You will collaborate across technology groups, design and implement reports and data feeds using the Murex modules, and ensure quality through QA automation and production support while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Murex Reporting developer.
• 3+ years of experience on SQL (Sybase).
• 2+ years in a leadership or senior technical role.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Python, Java, messaging, Spring, and database (Sybase), and DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins).
• Experience in JSON, REST API interfaces, and microservices.
• Experience in unit testing and integration testing.
• Exposure to analytics and quantitative finance and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Murex reporting design and implementation for the Rates & Credit platform.
• Oversee data feeds between trading systems, risk, finance and operations apps.
• Track and report progress to management and stakeholders.
• Align with DevOps and project management processes and drive improvements.
• Validate releases using in-house QA tools, expanding coverage where needed.
• Create detailed technical design documents for work involved.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced highly motivated Lead Murex Reporting Developer for Credit & Rates Derivatives’ trade management, reporting and settlement system (Murex). You will oversee Murex reporting team of three members to develop data services between trading systems and risk, finance, and operations applications. You will work across various technology groups to deliver high quality applications and strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application designs and application execution.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Work closely with end users and other IT partners involved in the Murex Rates project to gather requirements and coordinate testing and sign off
• Lead the design and implementation of reports and data feeds for the Murex Rates & Credit platform, using the Murex reporting modules (Datamart, Risk Engine) and RBC in-house tools
• Track and report progress to management and stakeholders
• Follow the processes put in place by the DevOps and project management teams. Participate in the process improvement.
• Validate all releases via our in-house automated QA tools, and extend its coverage
• Create and improve detailed technical design document for work involved
• Provide level 2 production support for all reports and data extractions

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Murex Reporting developer
• 3+ years of experience on SQL (Sybase)
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership or senior technical role
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Python, Java, messaging (Solace, MQ), Spring, and database (Sybase), and DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins)
• Experience in working with JSON, REST API interfaces, and microservices
• Experience in working with unit testing and integration testing
• Exposure to analytics and quantitative finance and excellent problem solving skills
