Job summary

RBC in Toronto, CAPITAL MARKETS division, seeks an experienced Java-focused developer to design, code, test, and maintain large-scale financial applications. The role emphasizes API development, system analysis, and ensuring operational efficiency within a capital markets environment.

You will work on designing and coding applications, reviewing existing systems, and implementing robust solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and coding Java-based applications, including Spring, Hibernate, and databases.
• 5+ years reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems for large-scale environments.
• Experience developing APIs and implementing business logic exposing datasets.
• 10 years ensuring operating efficiency and documenting revisions of application systems.
• 10 years conducting analyses of organizational needs for development of application systems.

What is the opportunity?

Provides information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using JAVA, and existing and emerging technology platforms. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

• Experience in developing APIs , implement business logic exposing datasets.

• Ten years of ensuring the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintaining records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.

• Ten years of conducting analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Capital markets will be a big plus.
