What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will support Group Risk Management Wholesale Credit by assessing, researching, and analyzing application solutions in order to make system recommendations that meet sponsor and stakeholder needs. You are responsible for determining and implementing effective and efficient application solutions, and recommending process improvement opportunities with strategic goals.

You will enhance and support Newton (RBC’s credit risk rating application) and other applications, and participate in related reporting, audit, data, and access management activities. As Associate Director, you may also lead business case development, strategic roadmap facilitation, new application selection, design and development of tools that support business needs.

What will you do?

  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts across business groups to collectively and effectively address system, process and operational needs
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
  • Manage risks,assumptions and constraints for requirements, and take ownership of implementation and communication plan with appropriate parties
  • Prepare requirements for review and lead requirements walkthrough and sign-off sessions
  • Work with IT and business resources (GRM, Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, City National Bank) to schedule and deliver business and IT related activities
  • Act as the primary business lead for UAT and PIV activities including planning, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues
  • Act as the business escalation contact for Production Support and Data Steward due diligence
  • Promote and develop strong collaboration with IT and business partners
  • Lead and participate in activities relating to reporting, audit, data, and access management

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong facilitation skills, verbal & written communication skills, and ability to engage different stakeholder groups
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to details, and business acumen
  • 4+ years of SDLC and senior business analyst experience in financial institutions, working on projects implementing applications for business users
  • Hands-on experience in BRD, QA, UAT, and PIV as well as the development of end-user communications, documentation, job aids and training
  • Exceptional customer service orientation, and teamwork
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, VBA, and SQL

Nice-to-have

  • Computer Science Degree, Business Analysis certification, Business Analysis training
  • Knowledge of Newton application, credit risk concepts, and financial statements
  • Experience working with end user reporting or BI tools
