Position Highlights

Corporate Banking, Business and Strategic Initiatives is part of the Credit Analytics Group (CAG) within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). This role will support strategic initiatives and projects that impact Corporate Banking teams globally, with a specific focus on defining new business requirements for Credit360, an in-house built credit adjudication platform. The ideal candidate will have the business knowledge and network to ensure that key stakeholders, including but not limited to, GBM, International Banking, Global Risk Management (GRM), capital management, policy and reporting are considered. You will have a solid understanding of Corporate Banking, GCM Banking and/or Structured Credit including products offered, how they are structured and how they are internally reported to improve the overall credit process.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and International Banking as part of the Credit360 steady state team by investigating business issues tied to Credit360, addressing questions from bankers related to Credit360 processes and facility structuring, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders and liaising with downstream users of data
  • Work with various teams to define business requirements for new system functionality, ensuring all facets of the credit process are considered (ie: risk, capital, reporting, policies & processes, operations), and that solutions are efficient
  • Become a subject matter expert on the credit process, facilities and related data in order to support Banking inquiries, design well thought out system enhancements and draft and implement appropriate test cases for new releases
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Support the business on a range of project and policy items that impact Corporate Banking
  • Provide ad hoc support across Corporate and Investment Banking
  • Responsible for arranging Credit360 training and ensuring materials are updated as required
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions; Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Completed Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Accounting
  • Corporate Banking, Global Capital MarketsCM Banking, Structured Credit or credit risk management experience is preferred
  • Solid understanding of Corporate Banking and related data
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) are required
  • Advance proficiency in Excel, experience with different lending platforms and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to multitask and manage numerous priorities, sometimes under very tight deadlines
  • Experience using the following systems used by GBM banking teams is an asset:
  • Credit360
  • CreditLens
  • Salesforce Tier1

Work Arrangement

This position is largely an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business. #CIB2025 #GBM2025
